Happy Clients, Happy Dogs
Max made so much progress in those two training sessions!
First, I appreciate that you took the time to let Max get comfortable with you instead of just taking the leash and working with him. Gaining his trust is worth a million. As well as being respectful of both mine and Max’s apparent anxieties around other dogs.
I have always been able to read his body language, but understanding the levels that trigger him and reacting (instead of overreacting ) appropriately makes it so much easier to be preventative and not let him escalate. It is wonderful to see him calmly letting other dogs pass, which makes it much safer for me to walk him. We still have some work to do, but Rome was not built in a day.
Of course, we would have appreciated more time to work with you, but we wish you much luck in Virginia! Warmly, Max & Heike

I have a reactive dog who’s been through a lot in his past — he’s a good boy, just misunderstood and needed the right kind of guidance. Very prompt response I'm afraid I only had one session due to an injury. He used a no nonsense approach by training me! I had trouble with her not walking well on the leash. His lesson in that was very helpful. He gives lots of tips for understanding the dog's behavior before you start practicing. I was glad I found him.

Working with Jeff is a pleasure. He is flexible and consistent. He takes his time with me and makes sure I understand the training process and what I am expecting the dog to do. He also helps me make improvements/adjustments as we go along. I like that Jeff offers suggestions for toys and products that aid in her mental development, especially those that keep her active and engaged. Because I understand if I don't have something for her to do, she will find something to do and that is not necessarily what you want a Rottie pup to do on their own.
I like that Jeff follows up with me after our sessions and asks if I have any questions. I like that a lot. He doesn't forget me but he doesn't pressure me. He has gently helped me communicate effectively with my 12 month old Rottie pup Stella Rose who is everything I knew she would be and more - extremely smart, curious, willful, slobbery, and more. I recommend Jeff because watching him interact with Stella Rose and how he is with her, yep, she trusts him completely. He is her trainer!
Stella learns fast, I'm just trying to keep up! Working with Jeff has truly made me a more effective dog owner.
